The girls in the Westend workshop will need to have their Roller Derby skates on::Frilled giant pockets and shirring elastic details::Pleats in strange places::lots of volume and play against sleek and lean.

This week we have been working on “summers last fling” Living in the tropics has become a catchcry of Brisbane natives so we have extended the summer collection just a tiny bit and included some of the most edgy sillouettes which we were saving for winter . Lace big shouldered tops , 60’s inspired tunic dresses with cutesy bow ties,petal shouldered cropped jackets and they are being made right now as I write….

Stripes and Prints and Bold new Colours

We are working on a set of super crazy and bright colours for the new year..stripes will be next to bold prints and patterns..Musk Lolly Pink next to Spanish yellow and a blue we have called songea sapphire..Tailored shorts next to totally unstructured tops..

Big Big skirts that swish when you walk teamed with tiny tops and boleros..kaftan dress in silk with pleat detail at the sides for added volume…

Studio Madness

So much a do…or to do…My girls in the studio have the next 10 days mapped down in a count down to a well earned break..
Garments being made and hitting the floor this week are some bigger than big skirts in 2 tones of Africa as a taste test of the next collection…
little tiny wrap tops to be worn over shirts and pink checks that can be teamed with florals to create that Sapeur look of the Congolese…lots of fun and frolic..

This week is “in the studio” for me. Although a limited and cramped in week,I can see that the next collection will be great with lots of new silouettes and colour..bold and clashing statements with a twist of glamour in each little creation…should be fun…

I will post some colour snaps just to tease the senses..

Yes! they are in store NOW the “Famous 3/4 Gwen ” shorts have hit the store floor. Appearing in two summer loving colours Dusty mink and Silver along with the ” Classic Black ” made from Cotton/Linen.

Well its definitely been a crazy month, with the festive season nearly upon us I don’t know where the days go. For those that attended the “Unwrap Party” I’m sure maria’s new collection WOWED you like it did with all us here, at Nelson Molloy. Thank you for all those who attended it was an amazing night and we loved sharing it with you all.

Looking back at 7th Sept Twitter sale, It went off with a HOOT. We have the Twitter sale running this week, Twiiter sales will run every fortnight. So jump upon the Twitter hype have a nosey and a follow to see what garments you can get at a ridiculous price.

It is the first week of October this weekend so if you find your self with no where to go this Sunday do pop down to the YDM at South Bank. Its a great day and place to take a stroll and have a look at the new summer frocks that are being sewed as we speak. Very cute, and oh so Nelson Molloy they are a Must Have!
